K-Bob

Korean Fried Chicken, the real KFC

K-Bob

Look, Lisbon is an amazing food city - you can easily get nearly any cuisine here. But the city has not yet experienced the level of ‘Korean fried chicken’ hype that hit London around 2016. Which is precisely why we’ve eaten in K-Bob twice in recent months. And why you 100% have to book to get a table. We can’t speak to the other mains on the menu. We're sure they’re great, but we come here with one thing in mind: Korean fried chicken. If you enjoy even a little bit of spice, go for the yangnyeom (€14) - it’s basically sweet chilli for the uninitiated. If not, we also enjoyed the soy and garlic (€14) or you can ask for a mix of flavours. It’s a HUGE portion of delicious, crunchy fried chicken with chips and coleslaw. Sharing would also work, maybe to save room for the kimchi pancake starter (€3.90) which was crispy and sweet. The bill came to €39 for a couple of beers, a couple of huge plates of fried chicken, a shared starter, a banging K-pop soundtrack to the evening and two very full people at the end. Lovely stuff.

Don’t forget to order: Bibimbap… only joking, obviously the Korean fried chicken.

This is the kimchi pancake and we have not done it justice with this terrible photo - it was very tasty.
