Khayyam

Utterly delicious Iranian food in a romantic setting

Khayyam
Pomegranate salad which came as a side for one of our mains but we can't remember which. Still delicious though.
Washed down with one of the cheaper bottles on the menu. Quite light, inherently drinkable

Khayyam is an intimate Persian restaurant just off Jardim do Príncipe Real serving some of the most delicious food. The staff are super friendly - and speak English! - so ask for recommendations, or just pick anything off the menu, safe in the knowledge it will probably be fantastic. Either way, start with some bread and the Mastro Khyar - a fabulous tangy yoghurt dip.

Dips. Sated the desire to just get on and start eating

Our top recommendation is the Jardim Khayyam - think sticky, fruity, nutty rice served with grilled chicken and a salad topped with pomegranate seeds. The restaurant is small, so book ahead for peak times using the reservation tool on their website. It is on a particularly steep hill - approaching from Jardim do Príncipe Real is your best bet.
