So it seems the South of France is wanting a reputation for its pizza. Everybody loves pizza, is there really such a thing as a bad pizza, or is all pizza just different levels of good?

Well after a decade of the sourdough base dominance of hipsterdom pizza we have this, frankly quite hipsterish restaurant, doing La Pizza De Marseille.

Even with the chipboard wall and the slightly weird pizza combinations so that you could be in a trendy pizza bar in Brooklyn or Hackney, the whole thing still serves up good pizza and pretty fast.

The half and half split between a cheesy Emmental heaven and the cheeseless marina sauce side worked really really well, but the chouriço, mushroom and ricotta pie was immense.

Full disclosure, we eat Mabiche's pizza more than anyone else's in Lisbon. It's very much of its time, but it is damn good. But don't just take our word for it, Lisbon's most famous kung-fu master Eric Cantona also eats here.
